About the Fitness Center

Opened during the fall of 2002 and located on the north side of campus, the 7,500 square-foot Fitness Center offers a wide variety of exercise equipment to the University community. The cardiovascular area offers 25 pieces, which includes treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, and steppers. The selectorized area contains 26 machines; it provides the opportunity to work both the upper and lower body as well as core muscles. Finally, the state-of-the-art free weight training area boasts three Samson Olympic platforms, four Samson Power Racks, six Samson Olympic Benches, a dumbbell training area, and over 10,000 pounds of weight.

Membership

The Fitness Center is open to all full-time College of Arts and Sciences students, free of charge. This includes those enrolled in: College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate studies, School of Music students, Communicative Disorders students, and M.S. GIS students. Simply bring your current, valid University of Redlands ID to active your membership.

School of Business, School of Education, Alumni, and Independent Contractors, including Sodexho, Bon Appétit, and Barnes and Noble employees, may utilize the facility by enrolling in a user-fee program. Cost is $20.00/month for individuals and can be purchased in either six-month or one-year agreements. In addition, this opportunity is available to spouses of current members at the same rate. Membership activation forms are available at the reception desk in the Fitness Center or at the Campus Events office in Hunsaker Plaza.  

Faculty, staff and administrators may utilize the facility as a part of their University benefits package. Cost is $15.00/month for individuals and $20.00/month for the family’s household. Membership activation forms are available at the reception desk in the Fitness Center.

Fitness Services

Towel service is provided free of charge to all Fitness Center members. Simply exchange your University of Redlands ID card for a towel.

Locker rooms and showers are provided free of charge to all Fitness Center members. Users are asked to bring their own lock and shower supplies. Lockers are day-use only.

The Fitness Center hosts fitness classes that students can enroll in for course credit. These courses include Personalized Fitness and Dynamic Fitness. Personalized Fitness is a course designed for beginner and intermediate level fitness enthusiasts. Dynamic Fitness sections include both Speed and Agility, as well as Strength and Power. These courses are designed for advanced fitness enthusiasts.
