Trenton Lively Garners ABCA All-West Region Accolades

Following his 2012 First-Team All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) selection, senior outfielder Trenton Lively (La Verne, CA) of the University of Redlands represented the Bulldogs on the 2012 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-West Region Third Team. 

Lively ranked first among the Maroon and Gray starters with a batting average of .361, which included 53 hits on 147 at-bats.  He connected on 11 doubles, three triples and a team-leading five home runs.  He crossed home plate on 36 occasions for the most runs on the team.

He also led the Bulldogs with 32 RBI and 85 total bases en route to a slugging percentage of .578.

Revealing his patience at the plate, Lively racked up 12 walks and took five hits-by-pitch. 

He supplied three sacrifice flies and two sacrifice hits to go along with a 3-for-3 performance in stolen bases.

On defense, Lively served as a staple in the outfield, supplying a near-perfect .985 fielding percentage, which included 65 outs, one assist and only one error.

Lively also made five appearances on the mound while going 1-1 in 4.1 innings of relief.

The Bulldogs finished out the 2012 campaign with a 20-20 overall record, highlighted by the Cal Invite crown and a sixth-place finish in the conference.
