UR Football Welcomes Veterans, Police Officers and Firefighters to Saturday's Game
The University of Redlands and Bulldog Athletics would like to extend a sincere invitation to all local veterans, police officers and firefighters to attend this Saturday's home football game at Ted Runner Stadium, free of charge. While competing in their final home game of the regular season, the No. 16/17 Bulldogs also look forward to honoring their seniors prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff against the Whittier College Poets.
Beginning at 6 p.m., fans may enjoy pregame music provided by X103.9 FM, which plans to give away Pepsi products to those in attendance.
Halftime entertainment will be provided by the University of Redlands cheer team.
Throughout the game, the 2011 Volunteer Pep Band will supply musical complements to the on-field football excitement as well.
Redlands (6-1, 4-1 SCIAC) currently sits in second place among the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings. Last week, the Maroon and Gray prevailed over the University of La Verne by a score of 38-28 in a Homecoming celebration.
The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season on Nov. 12 when they head to Orange County for a non-conference game against Chapman University.
Whittier (2-5, 1-3 SCIAC) captured its first conference win of the season with a 58-27 trouncing of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges during Senior Day. The Poets are currently sixth in the SCIAC, with their season finale scheduled against La Verne on Nov. 12.
Regular admission to the game is $7 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and non-UR students, and free to children 12 and under. In addition, all University of Redlands employees and students are admitted free with school ID.
