According to Compughterratings.com's 2012 NCAA Division III College Football Preseason Rankings, the University of Redlands football program landed at No. 9 overall in this national poll.  Compughter Ratings uses a mathematical model to generate rankings for professional and collegiate sports.

This ranking follows the D3football.com Preseason Top-25 ranking of No. 18 just over a week ago.

The Maroon and Gray is the highest ranked Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) program among the Compughter rankings, with the only other team in the Top 25 being Cal Lutheran University at No. 11.

The Bulldogs' first opponent, North Central College (IL), landed three spots ahead of the U of R at No. 6 in the nation.  The game will take place in Naperville, IL on September 8 in a rematch of last year's season opener.  The team returns home for Rah Rah Redlands on September 15 against Pacific Lutheran University (WA).
