The University of Redlands football staff is excited to merge talents with the coaches from the University of Washington, the University of Colorado, and Brigham Young University during three separate instructional camps this June. Geared toward players entering grades 9-12 this fall, each session costs just $50 and takes place at the facilities on the Redlands campus.
The Washington Huskies' staff joins the skills camp on Thursday, June 12, with the Colorado Buffalo coaches contributing to the session on Saturday, June 14, followed by the BYU football staff participating in the instruction on Saturday, June 28.
The first two sessions take place from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with check-in beginning at 3 p.m. each day. The final camp occurs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a 9 a.m. check-in time.
These non-contact camps offer excellent learning opportunities from some of the best coaches in the business. Participants will be instructed on the football fundamentals and taught to perform comprehensive skills and techniques specific to their position(s).
The camps include instruction for offensive and defensive linemen, quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, linebackers, and defensive backs. Skill position players will be instructed during individual drills and also with sessions of 1-on-1 and 7-on-7. Linemen will learn the complexities of playing their position(s) through stations of skill-related drills and will compete in a session of 1-on-1. Two-way players will have the opportunity to receive instruction at multiple positions, if they choose.
The University of Redlands football staff is guided by Head Coach Mike Maynard, who just completed his 26th year at the helm of Bulldog football after leading the squad to the program's 29th conference championship and seventh NCAA Division III playoff appearance.
