Junior/senior kicker Nathan Hierlihy (Redondo Beach, CA) of the University of Redlands was named this season's inaugural Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Football Athlete of the Week for competition through September 10, 2017.
Hierlihy's contributions helped propel the Bulldogs to their 32-7 win over Trinity University (TX) on September 2. He converted 4-of-5 field goal attempts, including a program-record 55-yard attempt, against the Tigers. He successfully split the uprights on field goals of 25, 40, and 50 yards, and averaged nearly 50 yards per punt and 64.4 yards per kickoff.
Hierlihy was also named to the D3football Team of the Week on September 4.
Hierlihy and the rest of the Bulldogs look forward to their upcoming trip to George Fox University (OR), where they face the Bruins on Saturday, September 16, for a 1:30 p.m. kick off in Newberg.
