Prior to the 2007-08 season, Bryan Ducey joined the Bulldog men’s basketball program as an assistant coach. A familiar face to the University of Redlands and Currier Gym, Ducey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2007 while competing for the Bulldog baseball team throughout his career.
Ducey boasts numerous Redlands ties, including his dad, Head Coach Jim Ducey ’78, as well as his mom, Kelly ’99, and two brothers, Ted ’03 and Jake ’11.
With a desire to eventually teach History and coach at the high school level, he is currently building toward that goal by serving as a teacher’s assistant at his alma mater, Redlands East Valley High School. He also attends the School of Education in pursuit of his teaching credential.
Ducey has worked at the Claremont Club for the past 13 summers, helping his dad manage the family-run swim school that has been in existence for more than 40 years.
Ducey excitedly joined the basketball staff at Redlands as an opportunity to both help student-athletes become better players and to share his first passion with others. He has been prevented from playing basketball due to a heart condition but appreciates being involved as an assistant coach.
In his spare time, Ducey enjoys all sports, particularly surfing and water skiing. He also likes to spend time camping and just hanging out with his family.
