Bulldog Mens Golf Earns No. 6 Ranking in Preseason Poll

The University of Redlands men’s golf team garnered a No.
6 ranking in the Golf World/Nike Men’s Division III
Coaches’ Preseason Poll, according to an announcement made
last week by Golf World.
Redlands, which placed ninth at the 2009 NCAA Division III
Men’s Golf Championships, gained 300 points in the poll.
Oglethorpe University (GA), the defending national champions,
captured the first-place honor with 409 points.
Four Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(SCIAC) schools ranked among the top 20. The University of La Verne
claimed the No. 4 spot while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (14th)
and Cal Lutheran University (20th) rounded out the
conference’s representation on the preseason list.
Head Coach Butch Edge takes over a program that has placed in the
top 10 at the national-championship tournament six of the past
seven seasons.
