Bulldog Men's Golf Garners Preseason National Ranking of No. 4
It was recently announced that the University of Redlands men's golf program landed at No. 4 on the preseason Golf World/Nike Golf Division III College Coaches' Poll. This ranking follows up the Bulldogs' strong finish at the 2012 NCAA Championships where they placed fifth overall.
This preseason poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) to create the rankings. The defending NCAA Division III champions, Oglethorpe, collected 12 of 16 first-place votes and earned the top spot among Division III programs.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges joined Redlands in the top 25, landing at No. 7 overall. Revealing the strength and depth of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the University of La Verne and Cal Lutheran University also earned spots in the preseason rankings, coming in at No. 11 and No. 17, respectively.
The Maroon and Gray returns the top rookie class form a year ago, which is highlighted by Third-Team All-American sophomore Bobby Holden (Simi Valley, CA).
