The University of Redlands Town & Gown and Bulldog Athletics are excited to invite the community to a "Chalk Talk" with Head Men's Soccer Coach Ralph Perez on Monday, October 22. This family-friendly event offers an insider's look into Bulldog soccer, followed by dinner at the Alumni House and an exciting game against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at Farquhar Field.

"It is an honor to have Coach Perez speak at Town & Gown's second Chalk Talk. He is an integral part of the Bulldog Athletics family and offers great insight into the game of soccer at every level," stated Town & Gown Board member and Redlands Sports Information Director Rachel Roche. "Coach has been looking forward to this event ever since our inaugural Chalk Talk with Coach Ducey back in January."

A familiar face to the American soccer scene, Perez took over the helm of Bulldog men's soccer in 2006 and has since amassed more than 100 wins en route to five conference titles and four NCAA appearances, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2011 and the Elite 8 in 2007. He was recently honored with the 2012 Walt Chyzowych Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed upon soccer coaches in the United States. With more than 35 years of coaching experience, Perez offers a diverse background that includes time with the U.S. National Team and the Los Angeles Galaxy.

"Chalk Talk" begins at 5 p.m. with dinner at the Alumni House Patio on the campus of the University of Redlands. Fans are encouraged to head over to Farquhar Field between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. in order to catch all of the pre-game ceremonies, which will honor the seniors of the 2012 Bulldog squad at their final home game of the regular season.  Fans are also encouraged to bring a blanket or chair to set up for seating at the outdoor venue.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.  

Ticket prices for the "Chalk Talk" are $15 for Town & Gown members and &17 for non-members. This includes dinner and admission to the men's soccer game. Space is limited and reservations are required.  Prior to making a reservation, attendees may join Town & Gown in order to receive the membership discount by visiting the Redlands web site.
