It was announced on Tuesday that the University of Redlands men's water polo program was tabbed as the No. 6 team by the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) in its Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Bulldogs received a total of 65 combined votes, which was the most by any NCAA Division III team.

The five programs ahead of the Maroon and Gray compete at the NCAA Division I level.

Redlands opens up the 2011 season with stiff competition against third-ranked UC San Diego and No. 1 Loyola Marymount University at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational on Sept. 3.
