Bulldog Swimmers Harp and Terzic Kick off NCAA Championships
Freshman Tyler Harp (San Bernardino, CA) and sophomore Miran
Terzic (Mostar, Bosna i Hercegovina) both competed on the first day
of action at the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving
Championships on Wednesday in Minneapolis, MN, representing the
University of Redlands.
The two Bulldog superstars took on the 50 freestyle, an event in
which they placed first and second at the 2009 Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships. Terzic,
the 2009 SCIAC champion in the event, tied for 21st in the
preliminary heats of the event with a 20.74 standard while his
sprinting counterpart, Harp, tied for 27th, clocking a 20.86. Both
swimmers did not advance to finals, which will take place this
evening. Luke Cummings of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
offered the final time that made it back to the consolation final
heat (20.58).
Tomorrow, Terzic and Harp take on the 100 butterfly and will join
up with senior Buddy Olds (Murrieta, CA) and junior John Floersch
(San Jose, CA) in the 200 freestyle relay. Harp and Terzic are
seeded 21st and 29th, respectively, in the 100 butterfly while the
200 freestyle relay is ranked 18th.
