Bulldog Swim & Dive Reels in CSCAA Scholar All-America Distinction

Both swim & dive teams earned the CSCAA's Scholar All-America distinction after the spring semester.

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the 2018 spring semester edition of the Scholar All-America list, which includes the men's and women's programs from the University of Redlands.  In order to qualify for this academic honor, teams must maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher through the most recent semester.

Redlands joins more than 700 schools in all NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA divisions to receive this award, with Division III producing 117 men's teams and 173 women's teams that earned this distinction.

During the spring semester, the Bulldog men owned a team GPA of 3.18 with 35 student-athletes, while Redlands' 20 women boasted a 3.41 mark.  Both of Head Coach Leslie Whittemore's teams received this scholarly accolade after the fall semester as well, resulting in a year of academic success for the Bulldogs.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) was well represented among the Scholar All-America list, with six of the nine men's teams and seven women's programs exceeding the minimum criteria.  In addition to Redlands, Caltech, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, Occidental College, and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges all received the award for both men and women.  Whittier College's women also landed among the elite list.
