It was announced earlier today that junior guard Ali Bueno (San Jose, CA) represented the University of Redlands women’s basketball team on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Third Team for the College Division.

Boasting a cumulative GPA of 3.77 as a Business Administration and Race & Ethnic Studies double major, Bueno earns her inaugural CoSIDA award of her career. She plays a starting role on the 13-6 Bulldog women’s basketball team that currently sits in a tie for third place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

For this season, Bueno owns a scoring average of 9.0 points per game. She leads the team in three-pointers made, connecting on 46 of her 109 shots from long range. Overall, she has contributed 30 assists and 18 steals while pulling down 22 rebounds.

In addition, Bueno has scored in double figures on seven occasions. On January 17 against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, she supplied a season-high 25 points, going 7-for-11 from behind the arc.

In order to qualify for this award, nominees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 as a sophomore, junior or senior.

Members of CoSIDA nominate and vote on the All-District teams, which are presented by ESPN The Magazine.
