University of Redlands Womens Basketball Player Ali Bueno Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors
It was announced earlier today that junior guard Ali Bueno (San
Jose, CA) represented the University of Redlands women’s
basketball team on the College Sports Information Directors of
America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Third Team for the College
Division.
Boasting a cumulative GPA of 3.77 as a Business Administration and
Race & Ethnic Studies double major, Bueno earns her inaugural
CoSIDA award of her career. She plays a starting role on the 13-6
Bulldog women’s basketball team that currently sits in a tie
for third place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (SCIAC).
For this season, Bueno owns a scoring average of 9.0 points per
game. She leads the team in three-pointers made, connecting on 46
of her 109 shots from long range. Overall, she has contributed 30
assists and 18 steals while pulling down 22 rebounds.
In addition, Bueno has scored in double figures on seven occasions.
On January 17 against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, she supplied a
season-high 25 points, going 7-for-11 from behind the arc.
In order to qualify for this award, nominees must have a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.30 as a sophomore, junior or senior.
Members of CoSIDA nominate and vote on the All-District teams,
which are presented by ESPN The Magazine.
