Brittany Oster Tabbed SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced on Tuesday afternoon that senior forward Brittany Oster (Agoura Hills, CA) of the University of Redlands women's basketball team was tabbed the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week for February 3-9.
Oster continues to play a large role in the Bulldogs' solid season as she led the team to a pair of crucial conference wins last week. Against the University of La Verne, she helped Redlands to avenge an earlier loss to the Leopards by providing a game-high, 25-point, 16-rebound performance in the 68-48 victory. She also dished out four assists, made one block, and nabbed one steal. In Saturday night's matchup with Occidental College, Oster fired off her 12th double-double of the year, this time scoring 24 points and puling in 13 boards. She also offered one assist and one steal in the 14-point triumph over the Tigers.
For Oster, the award marks the second time this season she has received SCIAC Athlete of the Week laurels.
Freshman swimmer Matt Williams (Bellevue, WA) of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges garnered the SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week honor.
