Briana “Bri” Martinez joined the University of Redlands women’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant in August 2016. In addition to coaching the Bulldogs, she attends the School of Business in pursuit of her Master of Business Administration.
This San Diego native attended The Bishop’s School in La Jolla, CA, where she contributed her talents to the women’s basketball team. Equipped with excellence in the classroom and on the court, Martinez was twice named to the All-Academic team and led her conference in rebounding as a senior.
After originally attending Cal State Fullerton for one year, she transferred to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. In her second year there, Martinez played in 10 games but unfortunately suffered a season-ending injury to her knee. After regaining her strength and agility, she returned to California to attend San Diego Christian College, where she devoted her junior and senior years to the Hawks women’s basketball team and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology.
Before becoming a Bulldog, Martinez worked as the assistant women’s basketball coach for her alma mater, San Diego Christian College, and was also a master fitness trainer at LA Fitness.
She looks forward to working with the Maroon and Gray and helping the student-athletes develop pride for the Redlands women’s basketball program.
She currently resides in Redlands.
