U of R Women’s Golf Opens Conference Competition with Second-Place Finish

The University of Redlands women's golf team opened up its spring season with the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) 18-hole No. 1 on Friday at Los Serranos Country Club, finishing second overall with a score of 333.

Sophomore Hannah Durette (Oceanside, CA) led the Bulldog lineup by shooting a nine-over 81 for fifth place.

A pair of newcomers in freshman Dalton Meade (Sandy, OR) and freshman Hannah Purdy (Newbury Park, CA) went 2-3 for the Maroon and Gray, each registering a single round score of 83 for sixth place overall.

Veteran swinger senior Tracy Saracino (Englewood, CO) signed her scorecard with an 86, while rookie Tavleen Kochar (La Habra, CA) notched another sub-90 round at 88.

 Second-year player Siarra Waddy (Temecula, CA) and freshman Samantha Conway (Ripon, CA) wrapped up the Redland scorers by tallying respective marks of 90 and 91.

UR returns to the links on Thurs., Feb. 23, at the SCIAC 18-hole No. 2 match at Sterling Hills Country Club.   The first tee time is set for 11 a.m.
