U of R Women's Golf Competes at CSU San Marcos Invitational
Led by sophomore swinger Dalton Meade (Sandy, OR), the University of Redlands women's golf program put together a respectable showing at the Cal State University San Marcos Invitational during the past few days, finishing in fourth place overall. The Bulldogs' four golfers combined to shoot a combined two-round total of 707, just four strokes shy of breaking into the Redlands Top-10 all-time for team two-round totals.
Meade, who finished tied for fifth overall, shot a combined 15 over par. On a challenging course, she showed her dependability by notching solid rounds of 80 and 79. Over the course of the invitational, she tallied three birdies and 22 pars.
Freshman Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) performed well for the second straight competition, signing her scorecard with a combined 177 (93, 84). For the two rounds, she recorded 13 pars and one birdie.
Sophomore swinger Samantha Conway (Ripon, CA) finished third for Redlands with a combined 185 (92, 93). Fellow second-year golfer Hannah Purdy (Newbury Park, CA) rounded out the Bulldog scorers, notching a two-round total of 186 (94, 92)
Redlands returns to action in the spring when it opens its 2013 schedule at the Point Loma Nazarene Tournament in San Diego, CA. The tournament is scheduled to take place on February 10-12.
