Bulldog Women’s Water Polo Tripped up by Pomona-Pitzer in Regular Season Finale

The University of Redlands women’s water polo team again found itself on the losing end of a defensive grind, dropping a 4-7 decision in its regular season finale against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Claremont on Saturday.

Senior center Jen Caron (San Dimas, CA) recorded the highest goal output for the Bulldogs with two on the afternoon. Additionally, senior center Sam Greenawalt (Riverside, CA) and freshman center Jaime Nippert (Gresham, OR) scored one apiece.

Keeping up with her stellar reputation between the pipes, junior goalkeeper Whitney Schieler (Porterville, CA) stopped a game-high nine shots on the afternoon.

Pomona-Pitzer’s Tamara Perea and Nikki Ruesch both scored twice while Dana Kingman earned the win in goal with six saves.

Redlands (12-16, 4-3 SCIAC) competes next in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Women’s Water Polo Tournament, which takes place from April 24-26 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
