Bulldog Womens Water Polo Splits Pair of Non-Conference Games
The Bulldog women’s water polo team hosted the second
Redlands Mini-Tournament on Saturday, facing off against Colorado
State University and Concordia University – Irvine. The
Bulldogs split results on the day, falling short against Colorado
State, 8-12, and then bouncing back with a solid 10-6 victory over
Concordia.
In the opener, Redlands looked to the scoring power of junior
2m-offensive player Sam Greenawalt (Riverside, CA) to lead the
charge with six goals. Junior 2m-defender Jen Caron (San Dimas, CA)
added two while junior goalkeeper Lauren Ellsworth (Napa, CA) made
10 stops between the pipes.
During the afternoon match, the Bulldogs captured a 10-6 victory
over Concordia with a well-rounded scoring effort. Senior
2m-defender Molly Todd (Sacramento, CA) earned a hat trick while
Greenawalt and senior driver Alana Martinez (Riverside, CA) scored
two goals apiece. Rounding out the Bulldogs’ offense, Caron
and junior driver Claire Quinn (Fresno, CA) provided one each.
Ellsworth earned six saves for Redlands.
In other action at the tournament, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges
defeated Concordia, 9-7, and then came up short against Colorado
State University, 7-9.
