Greenawalt, Quinn Tabbed as All-SCIAC Selections for Womens Water Polo

Senior center Sam Greenawalt (Riverside, CA) and senior driver
Claire Quinn (Fresno, CA) garnered All-Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) accolades for their
stellar play in the 2009 conference games, according to an
announcement made today by the SCIAC office.
Greenawalt corralled First-Team All-Conference laurels as she
scored a team-high 20 goals in SCIAC contests. She also added four
assists, nine steals, three ejections drawn and four field blocks.
A three-time All-SCIAC recipient, Greenawalt earned First-Team
All-Conference honors in 2008 and a Second-Team All-Conference
distinction in 2006.
For the first time in her four-year career, Quinn received a spot
on the All-SCIAC Second Team after notching a team-high 16 steals
in conference matches. She offered the second-highest goal total
among Bulldog scorers in conference tilts (15) and also supplied
seven assists, four ejections drawn and one field block.
Redlands (16-20, 5-5 SCIAC) ended up among the conference’s
top-four teams for the 15th time in 16 years with a fourth-place
finish during the 2009 season. The Maroon and Gray also reached the
National Collegiate III Women’s Water Polo Championship game
for the first time since 2006 as the Bulldogs finished second at
the postseason tournament.
The All-SCIAC teams are voted on by the eight conference head
coaches following the conclusion of the SCIAC Championships.
