Redlands Cross Country Student-Athlete Avery Kelly Honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Member
It was announced yesterday that junior cross country runner
Avery Kelly (Fort Worth, TX) represented the University of Redlands
on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association
(USTFCCCA) All-Academic team. Kelly is one of 203 Division III
female student-athletes selected.
Kelly completed another solid season in 2007, helping the Bulldog
women take third at the Southern California Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships with her fifth-place time
of 23:11.53. With the top-five performance, she garnered her third
consecutive All-SCIAC First Team award. Kelly then moved on to the
NCAA West Regional and finished 24th out of 114 harriers. She
posted a time of 23:06.25 to help Redlands earn 10th place overall.
Academically, Kelly boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.915 as a
Psychology major.
The USTFCCCA honors student-athletes who hold a minimum cumulative
GPA of 3.5 and finish in the top 25% of their respective NCAA
Regional meet.
