Redlands Cross Country Teams Earn All-Academic Honors

The University of Redlands cross country teams gained All-Academic accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), according to a release today from the USTFCCCA.

Redlands’ women’s team, which finished third at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships and ninth at the NCAA West Regional meet, averaged an impressive 3.189 GPA and earned a spot on the All-Academic team due to its successful practice of balancing both academics and athletics.

On the men’s side, the Bulldogs posted a mean GPA of 3.132 and also earned recognition for their combined efforts on the cross country course as well as in the classroom. The award supplements their fourth-place showing at the SCIAC Championship meet and their 10th-place outing at NCAA West Regionals.

In order to receive consideration for a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, NCAA institutions that sponsor cross country must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet as well as own a GPA of at least 3.10.
