The University of Redlands men's water polo team battled it out at the 2010 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championship Tournament on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, earning a third-place finish behind a 24-4 rout of Caltech and a 10-9 sudden-death overtime victory against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.
Redlands dropped the semifinal showdown against eventual conference champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges by a heartbreaking 8-9 decision.
By combining the dual match showings with the tournament results, the Bulldogs place second in the SCIAC standings. Despite owning the best conference record at 8-2, Redlands sits behind CMS because of a weighted point-system for the tournament, with the winner receiving nine points.
